Pajama Party- Noah Style!

As you probably realize by now, these zip pj's are one of my favorite things!  FLEECE, it comes in so many cute patterns!! I recently made to trip to JoAnn Fabrics to buy some new prints. I had such a hard time deciding which ones to purchase out of the 619 they have (No, I didn't count them. I checked their online selection.) I needed BOY prints for these NOAH pjs so ended up buying 9 of those. My cart was full just buying 9! This time the style is made out of a slightly larger version of this pattern... After my summer vacation, I cut out of fleece. The pjs are serged around the neck but not the body because of the thickness of the fleece- plus----- fleece doesn't fray! In 6 days, I made 8. I am always sewing! 'Noah's Submarine Pjs' 'Noah meets the Sharks' 'Noah and the Frogs' 'Noah and the Foxes' These fleece pjs are so unbelievably soft and comfortable that you will n

Meet Liam! Cotton Knit Pajamas for Boy Dolls

I'd love to introduce you to my addition of Cotton Knit Pajamas for Cabbage Patch 16" Boy Dolls! Does your little one have a boy doll they love to cuddle with all night long?  Here are some pjs to choose from so he doesn't feel left out at bedtime. The Liam Pj is the boy version of the 'Emma' sleeper. It is also made out of cotton knit fabric for that same lightweight feel with stretch .                                                               For these, I chose 5 fabrics. Aren't they cute? I cut them all out. Here they are waiting to be sewn. They are sewn exactly as the Emma pjs were (story below). Here is the zipper being topstitched down. 3 days later.... They all feature a soft cotton ribbed neckline.  We have 'Liam in Yellow Stripes' And while we are at it, 'Liam in Green and Grey Stripes' Let's sweeten the deal with, 'Liam at the Zoo' And for all you Foo

Pajamas - Emma Style!

After I purchased my Cabbage Patch 16" redheaded girl doll, it was pretty simple to figure out what I wanted to make first. I had been selling pajamas (made by me) for the 15" Bitty Baby and 18" Girl Doll on Ebay and Etsy for quite a while and wanted to design this pattern to fit my new doll.                                                                  Fits 15" Bitty Baby                                                                   Fits 18" Dolls     These pjs needed to be wide enough to fit the CP's large feet and have arms easy to pull over her chubby little hands. Simplicity and ease of putting on would be my rule in this style. Zippers are super popular so those needed to be included. June was now here so they needed to be lightweight and made out of fun, summertime prints. I decided that cotton knit would be just the thing to use because it is lighter then flannel or fleece and has the stretch I wanted. The drawing and fit

Where Do I Begin?

My blog may be new, but Adorabledolldesigns certainly isn't!   In January 2002, the temperature only rose to 34 degrees here in Elk Grove Village, Il. 9 inches of snow covers the ground. I am in the process of listing my first item on Ebay as seller 'SEWANDEMBMOM'. Encouragement came SO quickly when that item sells that it spurs me on to keep sewing. Not long after that I have an Ebay store called ADORABLEDOLLDESIGNS.  Fast forward to May of 2017. A change is in order for me. Instead of just making 15 and 18 inch doll clothes I am inspired to purchase my first Cabbage Patch Doll. I purchase a redhead because I am a redhead. The first thing I do is examine the clothes that came with the doll and compare them with my sewing style. The orange outfit came on the doll. My existing outfit is on the right. I personally do not care for raw edges so am happy with the quality of what I have been making. Cotton knit and Polar Fleece do not fr

Follow me as I share my sewing adventures as I also share my life with all of you!
