Fall Favorites

As it is still warm here in Illinois during the day but starts out cool and gets cool again in the evening, I start to pull out my fall clothes. For my dolls, I start pulling out all my brown fabrics and dream up the new styles that I would make out of them. Fall Diapers Polar Fleece diapers- a must for fall! The Abigail Dress for Spring 2021

I recently took inventory and realized that I needed to offer some new dresses.  As this is my favorite pattern where I mix and match cotton fabrics, I had a lot of fun doing it. This cutie started with some blue sunflower print fabric. I added a yellow polka dot band and white bodice. The sleeves are trimmed with lace. This little sweetheart began with a pink floral fabric and was mixed with white and turquoise floral cotton. Wide pink lace was added to the sleeves and a narrow lace to the bodice band. Darling navy cherry print has been paired with a white and red polka dot bodice. The sleeves were trimmed with lace and a red ribbon was added to the bodice. This lovely peachy pink floral was paired with a lime abstract print, a white and black polka dot print, and has pink lace added to the bodice band. Pretty turquoise butterflies paired with white floral cotton and turquoise print cotton. A ruffled lace was added to the hemline and flat lace to the bodice and sle...

Eager for Easter 2021?

I have already had a request for Easter. Someone wanted something for their 16" Cabbage Patch Boy Doll. I had already ordered everything available to ship to me that had bunnies in it. Most of the exclusive bunny fabrics are girl prints. For the boy, I got ones that had bunnies and other woodland animals.   This is one of my favorites! Darling coordinating fabrics. The pink floral fabric has a bunny wearing a crown and is mixed with the coordinating mint and white stripe. It has been made into adorable bloomers and a lace edged blouse. Same fabric as above made into pants with a blouse and hat. For the pants, I used a different coordinating mint fabric and added a pink ribbon trim at the hemline. Another of my favorites. A mint green with smaller bunnies and coordinating pink fabric has been made into an adorable dress with a hat and lace edged shorts. I guess I have a lot of favorites. I made this pastel bunny print into this summery dress, added a yellow band and a hair tie...

Ryan Bubble Romper

Relaxing in the Ryan Romper It is so hot in the Chicago suburbs that I decided to try a new bubble romper for my  Cabbage Patch 14 inch boy.  (I think we are having record breaking temperatures of over 90 degrees.) To keep Ryan cool, I made this. Each romper will be unique depending on what fabric I use. This one is one of a kind. It is a darling blue cotton sailboat and tugboat print. You can see the listing here: Ryan Romper Let's start with the fabric. I only had a little bit left of this fabric but had enough to make this 14" romper. You only need about 13" of fabric. My doll needed to be measured to decide how much higher to make my bloomer pattern to convert it into this romper sized pattern. I added 3" which gave plenty of crotch depth. The center front seam was serged.  The leg bottoms were serged and 6 1/2" of elastic on each leg was basted on with a wide stitch. Finish the leg opening by zig zagging the elastic flat. I sewed...
