The Abigail Dress for Spring 2021

I recently took inventory and realized that I needed to offer some new dresses.

As this is my favorite pattern where I mix and match cotton fabrics, I had a lot of fun doing it.

This cutie started with some blue sunflower print fabric. I added a yellow polka dot band and white bodice. The sleeves are trimmed with lace.

This little sweetheart began with a pink floral fabric and was mixed with white and turquoise floral cotton. Wide pink lace was added to the sleeves and a narrow lace to the bodice band.

Darling navy cherry print has been paired with a white and red polka dot bodice. The sleeves were trimmed with lace and a red ribbon was added to the bodice.

This lovely peachy pink floral was paired with a lime abstract print, a white and black polka dot print, and has pink lace added to the bodice band.

Pretty turquoise butterflies paired with white floral cotton and turquoise print cotton. A ruffled lace was added to the hemline and flat lace to the bodice and sleeve bands.

One of my customers needed one in a 14" size so I made a similar one for this preemie doll.
Navy tiny floral paired with turquoise and white cottons. Features tiny lace on the band and a tiny navy ribbon bow.

Fun cartoon print has been paired with bright pink ribbon and yellow cotton.

Grey floral cotton paired with purple and white prints. The narrow lace was added to the band and sleeves.

Pink print with pink polka dot and purple floral. Ribbon was added to the sleeves and lace to the waistband.

Larger floral design on a mint background with yellow polka dot waistband and ribbons on the sleeves.

Mommy and Me print with pink bodice and yellow lace.

For the future designer! Thread on ivory with beautiful ivory lace, a ribbon rose, and a bow to boot! I think she looks so angelic!

Hope you have enjoyed looking at my Abigail dress collection!

Introducing Hope & Holden

3 Years ago, when I was dreaming about new patterns, I started realizing that I had fallen in love with doll clothes that were hooded.  My flannel Pajamas were one of my top sellers so I decided that I needed to draft a hooded pj pattern for the Bitty Baby Dolls.  My first ones had with ears but they take 50 percent longer to make so my buyers didn't want to pay that much extra for the work that was involved. There are a few of these marked down in my stores because I am not currently making Bitty Baby Clothes. I also have an Owl one for CP on Amazon that has been marked down. Without the ears ***Still cute but not as high of a price point. In March of last year, I said, "Cabbage Patch, why not?" So I drafted patterns for the 16 inch dolls.  Soon, 14 inch and preemie sizes were made. The hoods are larger on the preemie but I can specially make a smaller hood if one was wanted because I made a pattern for that too.  Last month, I realized th...

Cabbage Patch Snacktime Kid Outfit- Special Order

One Saturday night, several weeks back, I received a request for a Snacktime Kid outfit. I had never heard of that particular doll so posted on the 'Cabbage Patch Kids Buy, Sell & Trade' Group. In the meantime, I googled it and found that it was a doll that had been recalled in 1997. Evidently, not everyone returned their dolls. This doll eats plastic food and goes through her into a backpack through a hole in her back. I was awake most of the night trying to figure out how to sew this. How will I make it when I don't have the doll? Do I make a slit in the back of the outfit or somehow sew an actual hole? The next day, my customer said she wanted a Robot Snowsuit. I figured this is the one she had seen on Amazon Handmade. The one I had made was for a boy doll. I found out that her little boy had her old 16" girl doll and carried it around so I think she wanted something more 'boyish'.  I pulled out the fabric to make sure I had enough. I had ...

Ebay / Etsy / Amazon Handmade

I started selling on Ebay on January 31,2002. The first thing I made was an embroidered patriotic star denim jacket. I wish I still had a picture of that! I decided that if it sold, I would list two more things. it sold right away! I started I was sewing two things for every one thing that I sold. Everything was handmade by me. Snowsuits were my top seller that year. Soon, I had an e-bay store. I was busy for many years. I started slowing down when I had to start saying "18 doll clothes" instead of using the brand of the doll that I was selling for. I believe that hurt my business because when people would search by brand name, they would not find me. The difficult thing was other people selling handmade clothes were still using the brand name (and still do) while I had my listings pulled. This year, things slowed down so much that I was paying more for fees then I was selling. It is sad to say but I finally decided to shut down my store. -----------------...
