FABRICS!

Hello, friends! While other people are getting ready for Thanksgiving, I am busy sewing for you. At this time of year planning, designing, and sewing takes up most of my time.

So~~~~my plan for tomorrow is to go the the fabric store and purchase the remaining needed fabric for the Christmas 2018 season.

Currently, I have these cozy fleece fabrics in stock. (Plus a dark red and several shades of green.) I purchased many of those a couple months back.

Besides those, I have these fun flannel fabrics in stock ready to be sewn up for your favorite doll. Feetie pajamas are my best seller.

AND- these eye-catching cotton fabrics, which I already revealed in my 1st Christmas sewing Blog Post.

I am getting pretty excited to see what new fabrics come into my home tomorrow. Hope I have room for them and that you soon make room for the pajamas, snowsuits, dresses, and outfits that they inspire me to sew for you!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Cabbage Patch Snacktime Kid Outfit- Special Order

One Saturday night, several weeks back, I received a request for a Snacktime Kid outfit. I had never heard of that particular doll so posted on the 'Cabbage Patch Kids Buy, Sell & Trade' Group. In the meantime, I googled it and found that it was a doll that had been recalled in 1997. Evidently, not everyone returned their dolls. This doll eats plastic food and goes through her into a backpack through a hole in her back. I was awake most of the night trying to figure out how to sew this. How will I make it when I don't have the doll? Do I make a slit in the back of the outfit or somehow sew an actual hole? The next day, my customer said she wanted a Robot Snowsuit. I figured this is the one she had seen on Amazon Handmade. The one I had made was for a boy doll. I found out that her little boy had her old 16" girl doll and carried it around so I think she wanted something more 'boyish'.  I pulled out the fabric to make sure I had enough. I had ...

Ebay / Etsy / Amazon Handmade

I started selling on Ebay on January 31,2002. The first thing I made was an embroidered patriotic star denim jacket. I wish I still had a picture of that! I decided that if it sold, I would list two more things. it sold right away! I started I was sewing two things for every one thing that I sold. Everything was handmade by me. Snowsuits were my top seller that year. Soon, I had an e-bay store. I was busy for many years. I started slowing down when I had to start saying "18 doll clothes" instead of using the brand of the doll that I was selling for. I believe that hurt my business because when people would search by brand name, they would not find me. The difficult thing was other people selling handmade clothes were still using the brand name (and still do) while I had my listings pulled. This year, things slowed down so much that I was paying more for fees then I was selling. It is sad to say but I finally decided to shut down my store. -----------------...

Dave and Ava Inspired Costumes

A year ago, I received a special order to make a custom outfit with the inspiration of a picture. I have now made 4 of those in the royal blue with the cat ears. On Wednesday, I received a special order from one of those customers with the inspiration of a video. From that, I created the orange, yellow, and brown dog outfit. I am not associated with this company in any way. I am not associated with this company in any way. It is challenging but fun to take a picture and come up with the final product. Right now, these are $17.99 each. If you would want one of these, contact me through either etsy or ebay.
